Going on Hiatus

8 01 2012

Hello readers, my WordPress statistics tells me that this is my 400th post since I’ve started blogging in early 2009. Call it a milestone or call it just another post, I don’t know what to think of it. Those who read this, thanks for visiting, I really appreciate all the page views. But I am going away for a while. A lot of things are up in the air for me right now and I feel like I should settle them before I come back. I know I don’t talk a lot about my personal life on here or to anybody really mainly because I don’t want to bum people out with my manic depressiveness.

If you know me personally, don’t be concerned nor try to pry me open. I deal with my shit on my own. I’m just trying to restrict my online presence at the moment. Call it what you want, but I feel completely addicted to the internet. I find myself sitting at the computer for hours on end stalking people, reading useless information, watching useless videos and I need to break the habit. I’m trying to recall life before Facebook and all of ‘social media’ for that sake, and I honestly can’t remember.

So take care everybody. Until next time, I leave you with this incredible song by Florence and the Machine: if you listen to one song loud today, let it be this one.

Goodbye 2011! Hello 2012.

31 12 2011

Happy New Year everybody. It is new year’s eve 2012! Things have been kind of down for me lately.. Perhaps from travel withdrawal and the realization that another year has past and I still have the same vapid job. A year ago I quit my job to go backpacking and now I’m still at the place I went back to. Weird. The worst is not knowing what I want to do next, so time just slips by as I am carried by the current of time. But I don’t want to be a downer for my last post of the year here. Instead, I want to reflect on some of the great things I’ve done this year:

1. Backpacking in Australia – Meeting amazing people from around the world and meeting Jay at the Adelaide Big Day Out concert. Thank you. And seeing Uluru (Ayers Rock) was both spiritual and hugely triumphant for me.

2. Eating at new restaurants in Toronto, New York and abroad – I love food, it is the reason I can never be skinny. Trying new places with friends brings me one of my greatest joys in life.

3. Cruise to Bermuda – Meeting the people I worked for face to face was amazing. I may not have been familiar with all of them but they were all extremely warm and friendly people. Tanning on their famous pink sand beaches was pretty awesome too..

4. Road trip to Chicago – It was a semi-spur of the moment thing with my dad. I decided to get out of town for a week and we settled on Chicago. It turned out to be one of the best trips I’ve ever had. Chicago is an incredible city on the rise.

5. Live Concerts/ Shows – This year was filled with concerts and I am increasingly starting to realize how much I love seeing these spectacles. Lady Gaga, Lion King, Michael Jackson’s Immortal Tour Cirque, Coldplay @MuchMusic, Lady Gaga @MMVA’s, Watch the Throne in Toronto AND Vancouver, and last but not least Rammstein and Tool at Big Day Out.

There are hundreds of things that I did not mention here but I have not forgotten them. This year has been good to me and I only hope next year will be better. If the world’s going to end, I want to go out on a bang. Here’s to having more good times and spending more dollars to keep the economy floating! Cheers mates.

Take Care

We know, you hate being alone when you ain’t the only one. You hate the fact that you bought the dream and they sold you one.

I’m back! And Merry Christmas!

24 12 2011

Olas! I am back from my mini world wind trip. Best part? Whistler by far. Although I did not snowboard it was simply stunning to be there. I have never seen anything else like it! I also went to see Watch the Throne AGAIN at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver. I was able to get pretty sweet tickets last minute so I was like ‘Hell Ya! let’s go!’ Hong Kong was good too, the food was orgasmic lol. I’m debating if I should post pics on facebook.. it doesn’t seem like the right thing to do anymore. At last everyone is getting Timeline and for once there is no wave of “freakout” facebook statuses. People’s profiles are all starting to look prettier! Horrah!

I don’t have much planned for X’mas other than family dinners and whatnot. I look forward to drinking lots of red wine and eating some delicious turkey! Then it’s time to go on the attack for Boxing Day!! Mwahaha. Although since coming back from this trip, I feel really drained and tired. Jet lag has been creeping up on me in the strangest ways. It’s like I can never get enough sleep and my energy feels low… so maybe I will just take it easy and try to relax over this holiday. Anyways, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa! :)

Peace and Joy – Q

AWAY

26 11 2011

I will be leaving for HK today. It is currently 4:03 am and I am just about done packing. I think I will take a two hour nap then get ready to head to the airport.

I don’t know if I will blog while I am away. I may if the opportunity presents itself… but don’t count on it. This trip came so fast I don’t know if I am fully prepared for what’s in store.. Weather will be nice though, it is about 24 degrees in Hong Kong right now. I am going to Seoul on Sunday and I checked that it will be about 15 degrees. So weather wise we should be fine. Can’t wait to get there! :)

I’m keeping this short and sweet, so peace out. Don’t miss me too much and remember to start your Christmas shopping sooner rather than later! lol
